A little about me!

My name is Lily McClure and I'm the k-8 visual art teacher at Parkway Schools. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in k-12 art education with an emphasis on special education. With the tools I learned from these programs, I hope to build an inclusive classroom that fosters improved self-esteem, emotional expression, as well as an appreciation of diversity. I have a passion for children and have fallen in love with their joy and creativity. I strongly believe that art is often the answer in education, both improving confidence and visual literacy. My own artwork varies from print making, ceramics, paper making, drawing, and metals. Along with my love of teaching and art, some of my favorite hobbies include hiking, reading, and gardening.
